Vor Jahren habe ich mal Ubuntu Studio installiert und mich mit dem Soundserver Jack herumgeschlagen. Das war nervig, evtl. ist man da heute aber schon weiter. Es gibt aber Alternativen: Audacity läuft z.B. ohne Jack und ist ziemlich einfach zu bedienen. Ich glaube Ghetto kennt sich da ganz gut aus.

Was "Treiber" für Ubuntu betrifft, so brauchst du in der Regel keine, wenn dein Gerät USB hat. Ubuntu kann alle wav oder mp3 Dateien auslesen.
Wenn es gar nicht klappt, dann hilft eine Lösung immer: Installiere unter Ubuntu über das Software-Center das Programm "WINE". Über dieses Programm kannst du dann Windows-Programme (also exe-Dateien) installieren und laufen lassen.
